Cookie Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
The short version
This website has been built to work almost entirely without cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, social media cookies or cookie-based analytics, and we do not track you across other websites. That is why you will not see a cookie banner here.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in comparable ways. UK law requires consent for cookies except those that are strictly necessary for a service you have requested.
The cookies we use
The only cookies that may be set on this website are strictly necessary security cookies:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
Turnstile security tokens (for example cf_clearance) |
Cloudflare | Confirms that a contact form submission comes from a person rather than an automated script, protecting the site from spam and abuse. Used only on pages that include the contact form. | Up to 30 minutes to 1 year depending on the token; set only when the security check runs. |
cbs_hub |
Colour by Shann | Keeps you signed in to your own client area after you have opened your sign-in link, so that you are not asked to sign in again every time you come back for your guides. It is set only once you sign in, holds nothing but a random value, and is not readable by any script. | 90 days, or until you sign out. |
Because these cookies are strictly necessary for the security of a service you are actively using, they do not require consent under UK law.
Booking with Setmore and Square
Appointments are booked through Setmore and paid for through Square. The Book Now buttons on this website are ordinary links: they open our Setmore booking page in a new tab. Nothing from Setmore or Square is embedded here, so neither sets cookies on colourbyshann.com.
Once you are on the booking page you are on Setmore’s website, and Setmore’s own cookie and privacy practices apply. The payment form within it is provided by Square, whose own practices apply to it. You can read them at setmore.com/privacy-policy and squareup.com/gb/en/legal/general/privacy. Our Privacy Policy explains what each receives and why.
Analytics without cookies
We measure how the website is used with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is deliberately privacy-first: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device and does not follow you to other websites. It tells us only aggregate things, such as which pages are read most.
If this ever changes
If we ever introduce cookies that require consent, for example for embedded video, or if we ever embed the booking page into a page on this site rather than linking to it, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first through a clear, unticked choice. We will not assume it.
Managing cookies
You can view, block and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking the security cookies described above may prevent the contact form from working; if that happens, you are always welcome to email [email protected] instead. Deleting the cbs_hub cookie simply signs you out of your client area, and a fresh sign-in link will let you back in.
